Our winter Session is our main event of the year. It occurs annually between December 26 and December 31, and takes place inside the Legislature building. At this event, members participate in exciting debates, meaningful discussions, and challenging personal explorations. All resolutions that we debate are written by members, and everyone is encouraged to write about something that they are passionate about!

Anyone between the ages of 15 and 21 may attend Session. The TUXIS Parliament is a spiritual and non- denominational organization. We welcome members from any and all religions or belief systems.

TUXIS Parliament of Alberta Debate

Every other year, during the May Long weekend, members from the youth parliaments of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba gather in one of the four western provincial Legislatures for a special session that is similar to our December session. The next Western Youth Parliament is being hosted by the British Colombian Youth Parliament in 2020.

In the years that the Western Youth Parliament is not being held, TUXIS hosts a condensed version of our December session in Calgary over the May Long weekend. Our next May-Mini Session is taking place in May of 2021.

Conferences are held periodically throughout the year on weekends. Conferences are opportunities for members to practice debate, write resolutions, and get to know other members. Anyone between the ages of 15 and 21 may attend Conferences.  If you are 14 years old but will reach your 15th birthday before December 26th of this year, you are also welcome to attend. TUXIS is a spiritual non-denominational organization, and we welcome members from any and all religions or belief systems. You do not need to have attended a Session or any other event to attend a conference.

TUXIS also hosts an annual summer retreat for members and alumni. We book a campsite for one weekend, and members can play games, relax, and get to know each other. This retreat is usually held at a camp site at Sylvan Lake.
